Autism Program

What is Autism?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects a person’s social communication and sensory regulation. Individuals with ASD may also have restricted and/or repetitive behavior, interests and activities. The thinking and learning abilities of people with autism can vary dramatically from one individual to another and fall across a “spectrum”. There is overwhelming research to support ABA as the most effective methodology for learners with ASD.

The Deron School is uniquely positioned to over-deliver on the programs that help learners with ASD. With a full Behavior Department, each campus is equipped with a team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) and behavior consultants.  The teams regularly collaborate across campuses to ensure best practices and consistency for all learners. For those learners with ASD, Deron ensures the skills needed for their success.

Our Celebration of the Arts takes place this week in Montclair on May 20 and in Union on May 21. We look forward to seeing our families there!
