“My son Christopher started at The Deron School at age 3 and he’s now 7. We couldn’t be happier with how warm and inviting this school is, their concentrated attention on each student individually, their willingness to listen and be there for the parents and the wonderful programs they have in place amongst a fantastic staff. All around wonderful school. Thank you, Deron!”

“As a case manager, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Deron School for over 6 years, and it has consistently been a positive experience. The staff is professional, supportive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They bring a lot of creativity into their work and truly focus on meeting each student’s individual needs. One thing I really appreciate is how much they support families not just within the school, but by helping connect them with outside resources as well. They’re also very responsive and easy to collaborate with, which makes a big difference from a district perspective. Deron is one of my favorite schools to work with. What makes it especially unique is that it truly feels like a family because it is run by a family and that sense of care and connection carries through everything they do.“

“Our entry to Deron was a result of a failing school program that could not provide the support and tools to help my dually diagnosed child. I was skeptical, anxious, and exhausted from the mental/emotional stress as a result. Walking into the halls of Deron, I immediately felt relief. During our Intake meeting, all of my fears, concerns, and goals for my child were addressed. For the first time in a long time, I felt my kid was seen, and these amazing practitioners knew exactly what to do to help my kid! It has been an amazing two years with constant collaboration, real-time communication, data-driven progress reports, and, more importantly, evidence of my child’s success! She has gone from non-verbal to verbal in one school year. She has early reading and emerging writing skills, independence, increased confidence, and overall joy. Not only is she thriving, but she is ignoring any limits set before her. Transitioning to Deron was the best decision I made. I am so grateful for the amazing teachers, therapists, and support staff who make a difference to every Deron student!“

“Since our partnership with The Deron School began in 2003, we have been continually inspired by the dedication and enthusiasm their students bring to Mountainside Medical Center. As volunteers across several departments, the students gain meaningful hands-on experience while developing essential workplace skills, communicating with peers and supervisors, supporting patients and visitors, and understanding the responsibility that comes with being part of the medical center team. Their contributions not only enhance our daily operations but also enrich the compassionate environment we strive to provide for every patient. We are proud to support their growth and honored to be part of their vocational journey.”

“I have worked with the Deron School for many years, and they consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to their students. The building is bright and welcoming, enhanced by extensive displays of student artwork that create an inviting atmosphere. The staff is dedicated to addressing the needs of the whole child, providing individualized support and fostering meaningful communication with families and partnering school districts. Students benefit from a range of classroom, therapies and opportunities that promote personal growth and independence. As a result, both students and their families are well supported and prepared for their next phase of life and learning to the fullest extent of each student’s abilities.”

“The Deron School has been a large part of my son’s success and continued progress. I am very grateful and thankful for the staff and teachers that surround the kids daily, they are truly people who enjoy what they do, even when it can be trying or frustrating. The communication between teachers and parents is great and very helpful for parents. I recommend the school to people continuously and will continue to do so. The instruction is centered toward achieving academic excellence but is also geared towards daily living activities to help promote self-sufficiency as the kids age, to help them build the foundation of independence for teen and adult years. Thank you so much for everything, me and my family really appreciate you.”
